What is a Physiotherapist?

Physiotherapists are university trained and are experts in injury diagnosis, injury treatment, exercise prescription, injury prevention, rehabilitation and many other areas of sport and health and fitness.

What do I need to bring?

Be prepared to provide your previous medical or surgical history. If you have them and if they are relevant bring scan/MRI reports, and list of medication. You may wish to bring shorts and t-shirt.

How many visits will I need?

The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the physiotherapist will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process.

What should I wear to my appointment?

If we are treating your feet you will not be asked to undress but if we are treating your spine, you will be so comfortable and modest underwear or even a pair of shorts is appropriate.

How do I make an appointment?

You can get in touch by phone 580-699-5455 or use the form under the contact page. Alternatively use the quick and easy online booking page, which is the method we prefer.

Do I have to be referred by a doctor?

No, physiotherapists can assess and treat without referral by a doctor. However most health insurers require a doctors referral before they authorise cover of fees, some only require a phone call.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your first appointment to ensure all the necessary paperwork is completed. After your initial visit you only need to arrive at least 5 minutes early.

We sees and treats patient for a wide range of conditions and diagnoses.  Please visit our Services for an extensive list of conditions and diagnoses we see patients for.

Please wear clothes that are comfortable and loose fitting so that we can evaluate and treat the area that is causing pain. For example if we are to treat your knee, then you should consider wearing shorts or sweats.

Yes, please bring the following:

  • Your physical therapy referral from your doctor (if you have one)
  • Your insurance card if your insurance is covering the cost
  • If insurance isn’t covering the cost then please bring payment information
  • Any other reports that may have been given to you by the doctor
  • Any braces, splints or crutches that you are using

The initial treatment can last between 60 to 90 minutes. After the initial treatment, the trained physical therapist will create a customized treatment plan for you. We have a hands on approach and spend quality time to treat each patient’s needs.

Your initial visit and evaluation is always with a trained physical therapist. Your additional visits may be with a trained physical assistant which will be determined by your physical therapist. The physical therapist is always involved in your treatment. No Rehab techs here.

During your first visit, a trained physical therapist will complete a thorough evaluation and will create a customized treatment plan, which will include onsite visits as well as a home exercise program to aid in your treatment between visits.

No, you do not need a referral. On May 23, 2014 Oklahoma Gov Mary Fallin signed HB 1020, granting Oklahomans direct access to evaluation and treatment by physical therapists (PTs) without a physician referral. The bill, which was promoted by the Oklahoma Chapter of APTA (OPTA), permits patients to be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist for 30 days without a referral from a physician or other provider. This direct access allows you to take a more active role in your own health care and choose safe and effective treatment directly from physical therapists.

Physical therapy services is much like doctor’s office services. When you are seen for treatment if you have insurance, we will verify your benefits, which is why we ask you to bring your insurance card. Verifying your benefits helps us determine your co-pay for physical therapy. We collect this co-pay at your visit and apply it to your account. We will then bill your insurance company using a particular code letting your insurance company know we are treating you. The insurance company will process the information and pay the agreed upon fee. Your insurance company should then submit an Explanation of Benefits summary that will be sent to you with a balance due. We will receive the same Explanation of Benefits summary along with a payment check. If you have questions at any time throughout the billing process, please contact us at 580-699-5455 – we are happy to help!
